Philosophy of Treatment
Whether the issue is depression, trauma, painful personal loss, or getting through a difficult crossroad in one’s life, my goal is to help you to discover your personal pathway to healing. A change in perspective can often be very helpful in providing the positive momentum to move forward and to feel in control of your life once again. With my solution-oriented approach, I find that therapeutic goals can usually be reached with a limited number of sessions.
In addition to working with people whose lives are hampered by depression, anxiety, panic disorders, or past emotional traumas, I also welcome the opportunity to work with individuals trying to cope with chronic pain. Chronic pain is a specific area of expertise that I have been committed to for many years through my work in medical rehabilitation with persons suffering from chronic pain, stemming from physical injuries or chronic medical conditions such as fibromyalgia.
Lastly, I enjoy working with couples whose relationships are at a difficult juncture. Learning to communicate more effectively can often shift unhealthy patterns in a relationship so that both individuals experience greater satisfaction and can function more lovingly.
